Dr. Hannah O’Rourke is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta.
She leads the Connecting for Quality of Life Across the Lifespan (CONNECT-QOL) research program, with current funding from the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, CIHR and the Public Health Agency of Canada. The CONNECT-QOL program aims to accelerate the development, evaluation and dissemination of a suite of interventions to address loneliness and improve quality of life for people living with dementia. She applies systematic and scoping review methodologies, and mixed methods, to understand and assess intervention effects and processes, with the ultimate goal to produce effective interventions for use by people living with dementia and their family, friends and health care providers in real world settings.
Dr. O’Rourke co-leads CNNRA, the Canadian Network for Nurse Researchers in Aging, and teaches graduate systematic review and knowledge translation courses at the University of Alberta.
